Scenario: (17%)

You have received $5,000 to build a new computer system. Your blog entries should list the hardware components you are planning on buying, sizes (where appropriate), their cost and purpose. Also include a description of some various computer hardware and software functions.

(g) Description of the different PC and Macintosh Operating Systems

the difference is in essential that as I mentioned before the OS is the one that manage the distribution of memory for the applications and the hardware depending of how its distributed could happen that some application may run faster and more efficiently in a specifically OS as well as each OS has his own way to manage the files (type of formats) the manage of them can be more secure and reliable in the process, not only for the users as well for the developments, as PC are more popular its said that his architecture with the most popular OS (windows) its easy for the developers but with the cost of security but the versatility its huge in comparison with the Mac OS, on the other hand its possible to emulate the OS mac on the PC with the Linux OS that has the same architecture of the Mac OS.

(f) The Relationship between an Application program, the operating system and hardware

As explained a few times in the last post the operative system its really easy to visualize with the next graph
Explaining again that the principal function of the OS its manage the assignation of memory of the applications and the manage the hardware in the way that this applications solicited

(e) A Description of the Boot Process

The first action after turn on the PC it's take it from the BIOS that is the system that manage the basic input output on the computer, it's turn on the monitor and the keyboard to check after the memory RAM, after that it checks the information of the peripheries in a predefine order (recorder in a small memory ROM) until find in one of them generally the hard drive a operative system to run it, to do this the hard drive has a small area call of 512 bytes Master Boot Record (MBR) on this area there is a especial "file" that has the order to read the hard drive with the partitions table, after select the partition that its going to start the process its repeat for the partition to actually start the operative system itself.

(d) The Functions of a Computer Operating System

The function of the operative system it's the software that manage the basic process working as a bridge between the other programs and the hardware assignment and organizing the memory for the process and protecting the access to the hardware, as well works as the interpreter of the software to use in the respective configuration of hardware.

(c) The Environment Considerations in the Disposal of Computer Hardware and OH+S considerations in the use of computer equipment.

As this computer is quiet really good configuration it's good idea to have some considerations to protect it such as the temperature of the room trying to maintain a temperature not to high avoiding overheat on the CPU and the motherboard.

As well will be good idea to check the manual of the monitor and follow the instructions for the optimal use of the 3d features.

In the eventuality of a disposal of some of the components of the computer the best solution will be check the local regulations about it, checking firstly the alternatives that some manufactures give as well in this topic.
